The Rutgers University Office of Information Technology Residential Networking group
provides residence hall students with high speed Ethernet connections. The residential
network allows students to easily access University resources such as web pages and class
schedules. Our ResNet support staff is available year round (including summer session!)
to help you with network configuration and related problems.

We are testing to see if you are configured for 802.1x on ResNet.
If you have not already set up your device with the RUWireless_Secure installer,
you can do so here.
Any device that has an Ethernet port but cannot support 802.1x
(game consoles, routers, Roku 3, Apple TV) will need to be registered
through your local Help Desk.
Note that if a device does not have an Ethernet port and does not support
enterprise authentication (captive portal or 802.1x), then it is incompatible
with the residential network. For a list of confirmed devices with compatibility
issues, click here.
You are correctly configured for 802.1x on ResNet. If you cannot connect to
other pages, please contact your local Help Desk.
